Regrettably, in view of the uncertainty as to when it will be safe for gatherings to take place again due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the WIRG Summer Meeting at Fernhurst on 11 July has been postponed to July 2021.
The 2020 AGM, which was to be held following the meeting, is postponed to the 2021 Winter Meeting, the date and place of which will be fixed in the autumn. As in recent years, it will be held on a Saturday in late January or early February, provided restrictions on gatherings have been lifted.
The Annual Report, including Financial Accounts, will be circulated to the Membership in July this year. If you have previously supplied your e-mail address, documents will be sent as an e-mail attachment. If you are able to receive these by e-mail but have not yet given or updated any changes to your address, please do so NOW by e-mailing our Treasurer, Shiela Broomfield email@example.com
This will save considerable effort on the part of our hard working Treasurer as well as reducing mailing and paper costs – and save at least a tree branch. All addresses will only be used for WIRG business. If we do not have an e-mail address for you, the Annual Report will be sent by post.
The Charity Commission has accepted that postponement of many AGMs is inevitable due to the ruling by UK Government not to socialise, and Government legislation takes precedence over the WIRG Constitution.
